Terry Allen Plumbing and Heating is a 3rd generation heating, cooling and plumbing company located in Flint Michigan. Terry Allen, with his wife LuCille and daughter Sharon, came to Michigan in 1954 from south east Missouri. Their son, Timm, was born in Flint in 1958. The Allen family traveled to Michigan so Mr. Allen could work for William E. Walter Mechanical Contractors in Flint. At the time, William E. Walter was heavily involved in the reconstruction of the Beecher High School, which was damaged by a tornado in 1953.
After working in the area for 10 years, Mr. and Mrs. Allen founded Terry Allen Plumbing and Heating, Inc. on April 1,1964. Their first location, at 608 Court Street in Flint, was started with a dedication to service, quality and reliability and a single service vehicle. Because of the growth of Terry Allen. Plumbing and Heating, Inc., in 1967 Mr. and Mrs. Allen moved the business to 3509 Fenton Road.
In addition to adding more space to the service side of Terry Allen Plumbing and Heating, Inc., the move allowed them to open a small retail area with the encouragement of the families who operated A & S Supply Company of Flint. By doing this, Terry Allen Plumbing and Heating, Inc. was able to address both the service and fixture needs of their customers. Through the following years, they expanded the business and showroom, and in 1978, moved the company to its current location at 3621 Fenton Road.
Mr. Allen retired from Terry Allen Plumbing and Heating in 1990, and his son, Timm became President. Mr. Allen remained a consultant until his death in 2012, and Mrs. Allen continued to work at Terry Allen Plumbing and Heating, Inc. until her retirement in 1997. She passed away in June 2017. Timm Allen remained President of the company until his retirement in December 2016. At that time, Terry Allen’s granddaughter, Kelly Kitley, continued family ownership of the business with her business partner, Walter Coleman, who is Vice President. Terry Allen Plumbing and Heating, Inc. continues to grow and serve the greater Flint area, and they would like to thank you for the opportunity over the years to help keep your family warm, dry and comfortable.
